![]() The game does actually skip some rendering work for tiles that you don't own. 81 tiles mod used to be buggy a long time ago, but it's now reliable - make sure you. 'Array index is out of range' doesn't mean '81 tiles broke something'. It's just people immediately blaming 81 tiles because they saw someone else mention it somewhere else. Most of the issues attributed to 81 tiles have absolutely nothing to do with the 81 tiles mod. My system is a 5 year old laptop (i7-3630qm, 16GB DDR3, GT740M), and the difference between 1 tile and 81 tiles is 1fps. I personally always use the 81 tiles mod. Several small, self sufficient towns are actually lighter on the fps than a massive city. The difference is in how much you build, and how you build. The only thing it can't render without unlocking a tile is the tunnels, and that only affects maps created with the mod for tunnels in the mapeditor. There is no actual difference between 1, 25 or 81 tiles. ![]() The game calculates and renders the entire map at all times, regardless of how many tiles are unlocked. ![]() Are there also any bugs or errors that most people have encountered when using it? I know about the prop limit and such but are there any particular issues that arise when using it? I don't plan to fill each tile to the brim, I just want to have a realistic scope of my city and its suburbs. Hi, I have a question for those who use the 81 tile mod do you have any performance hits whenever you use it? I plan to use it so that I can spread my city in a larger area as the 25 tiles isn't enough for what I plan. Been trying out a dozen of mods from the Workshop that is supposed to unlock 25 tiles without paying for them in-game. ![]()
